For much of my professional life, I found my voice behind the camera as a photographer, capturing moments and turning them into stories that could be felt as well as seen. But it was the quiet in-between spaces—the stretches between assignments, the long drives home—where another creative spark began to flicker. Writing called out to me, as it had been since my student days in creative writing classes at college, urging me to tell stories in a different way.
One story, in particular, wouldn’t let go. Over the course of ten years, while building my photography career, I worked on what would eventually become my first book, “I Am with you always.” It was a labor of love and patience, a project that grew alongside me and reflected the shifting seasons of my own life. After retiring two years ago, I finally had the time and freedom to give the book my all, and seeing it published was a fulfillment I’d dreamed of for years.
